Humans are the dominate race within the Forgotten Realms. With their penchant for migration and conquest, humans are more physically diverse than other common races. There is no typical human.
Human skin shades range from nearly black to very pale, and hair colors from black to blond. Men might sport facial hair that is sparse or thick. Humans are the most adaptable and ambitious people among the common races. They have widely varying tastes, morals, and customs, humans can change wildly from region to region.
An individual human might have a relatively short life span, however if a human drinks from pools of eternity they stop the aging process nor longer fearing of death from old age. Humans are not allowed to drink till they reach the age of adulthood at 18.

There numbers took a large hit after the war, they used most of their strength to help the mankind rid the world of magic. Now with their own homelands gone they are scattered threw out the realm, some live in the port assimilating and other live outside the walls, making their livings are mercenaries for hire.
To an Orc, strength means everything. There is nothing in Orc society that favors the weak and as such they mirror in ways the Spartans of ancient days. To live as an orc is to live a hard life, most are gruff the pools of eternity do not seem to work on this race that said, Orcs generally have a fairly short life span (40 to 50 years if allowed to die of natural causes, which is rare).
All races dislike Orcs but see a purposes in utilizing their natural brute strengths. Their skin ranges from green, to brown, to gray and shades in between, with hair color in similar tones. Most orcs do have fangs or tusks of some sort, and tend to be larger in build then most humans.
Ores typically stay in bands. jobs might be scout, warrior or in the rare case Orc Shamans as they where the magicians among the orcs, but now with magic gone along with their homelands. They support the other troops during a fights now they are more like a spiritual leader who knows the ways of healing.

The most common elves within realms, these are the Elves that have stayed above ground to protect the pools of eternity within their ancestral home of Camlion. Light elves were once a significant force described as luminous beings, “more beautiful than the sun”, but in recent times their numbers have been dramatically reduced.
Because of their agreement with mankind they are not often meet with open hostility. Patient and deliberate in most of what they do, they have a closeness to nature. Light elves are less motivated to become adventurers than their wandering dark elven brethren and prefer, for the most part, to keep to themselves with their city.
Light elves are uniformly pale in complexion, some with bronze skin tones. Pastel colored hair tones blues pinks and purples, or even natural shades blondes, browns, black and gingers. Like all Elves they have pointed ears of different lengths and sizes. They are the only races that does not need to drink from the pools to remain ageless. Some legends say that to look upon elves you could see their link to the changes of the seasons and nature.

Thousands of years ago, the elves were divided, those who went into the underground that some named Niflheim some the underdark were cursed and became Drow,Dokkalfar or Dark Elves. This race is looked down upon by both humans and Light Elves. Like all Elves they have pointed ears of different lengths and sizes.black skin that resembles polished obsidian and stark white or pale yellow hair. They commonly have very pale eyes (so pale as to be often mistaken for white) in shades of pale lilac, silver, pink, and blue. Dark elves were incapable of having beards, but some males managed to grow long sideburns or even tufts of wispy hair on the cheek or chin.
They also tend to be smaller and thinner than most elves. Most drow on the surface are evil and worship Vhaeraun, but some outcasts and renegades have a more neutral attitude and have become sly merchants or entertainers.
Most tend towards the cruel, arrogant, and hedonistic. Their eternal game of advancement at the expense of others, which is encouraged by the spider goddess herself, has transformed the dark elves into a race of scheming backstabbers eager to increase their own stations by pulling down those ahead of them and crushing their inferiors underfoot.

Half breeds are consider any mix of any two, of the common races, half breeds may not gain the trait of agelessnesses, even if you come from a light elf parent, like all others they must drink from the pools of eternity.
Half breeds are often met with distrust from society as some view them as potential spies or outsiders. They have been known to inherit traits from both parents and sometimes find themselves on the outside of both groups as distrust in mixing of the races runs deep.

Often braiding them with ornaments, to grow long beards is a sign of wisdom Unlike the other races they deem an aged appearance as more attractive and honored. With age hair turns white or gray younger members of their community showing them respect for that outward sign.
Because the dwarfs never left their underground homeland they are more accustomed to tunnels and mines. They are more accepted by the other races because of the incorporation within it throughout history and economy of all.
They must drink for the pools of eternity to stop the aging process.
Constitution score increases by 2. slower walk than most other races.
Dwarven Resilience and resistance against most poisons.
It is said shifters are linked to the moon and that through the ages their connection to nature through the Ancient Tree gave them the ability to shift forms. Now with the Ancient Tree fallen their powers have been greatly diminished. They had to remain neutral in the war between humans & elves . That does not seem to have benefited them as they had planned.
Losing their capable of shifting at will. Now only shifting during the days of the full moons cycle which is three days a month. Full moon shifters can’t control the change they must change due to the fact the magic of the realm is broken dissipated. ( real world moon cycle not SL)
This race can not create half Breeds
They have 3 forms: Human, four legged and anthropomorphic-various creatures from the natural world with leanings towards canine, feline. Rare is the acceptation to other creatures and the rarest being accipitrine or Birdlike. -These forms do have some advantages & disadvantages to each form.
Shifters tend to have a pack mentality, secretive, suspicious of outsiders usually found in camps snf swamps outside the city but can easily slip in an out without any other people knowing they are not human or different

This is for Domestic & Wild Beasts. Anyone applying to create an animal character. You must have a grasp of what it takes to portray animals through nonverbal means…they do not speak and usually use body language to create a believable character. They may become familiars. Mounts or other domestics tasks.

Dragonborn are taller and heavier than Humans, standing well over 6 feet tall and averaging almost 250 pounds. They may look very much like humans with only a few Dragon Like Traits or they may look exceedingly Dragon Like with scales, facial horns, claws etc. They come in many colors. Each will be associated with one of the True Dragon colors. Black, Blue, Brass, Bronze, Copper, Gold, Green, Red, Silver, White.

Coming Back into the realms you have found that the loss of magic has also affected your kind much like the shifters it is relegated to rare occasions. sporadic at best.
They like many races are long lived but may drink from the pools to gain a more youthful appearace.
A secretive race who egged on the humans into starting the great war. Their plot backfired when magic fell and they lost more than expected.
They have an innate tendency toward evil. Evil or not, an independent Nature inclines many Demonborns toward a chaotic existances. It’s a dog eat dog existence in the Forsaken realms for them and they like it that way….as few trust them knowing their nature.
They do not like the peace but have found ways to make the best of it as the ages have moved along after the war. They like to sway minds and bodies of others to their will taking a much subtler more subversive way when dealing with things.
